Allegheny Technologies

Allegheny Technologies' Brackenridge Works uses its own in-plant railroad to move specialty steel slabs and coils around the mill. The shortline connects the Hot Rolling and Processing Facility with finishing areas and interchanges with Norfolk Southern railroads for outbound shipping. They use a fleet of Republic RX500 locomotives, USA made low-emission switchers built specifically for heavy industrial rail service.
